What it does:

- Performs biometric liveness checks via certified external providers
  (Sumsub as primary, Onfido as secondary fallback).
- Cross-checks documents against international databases.
- Creates a verified identity record that powers the Verified Nomad badge.
- Issues a Relocate ID (RID) — a unique portable identifier tied to the person,
  not to any country or document.

What it does NOT do:
- Nomad ID does not store raw biometric data.
- Nomad ID does not use Stripe Identity (explicitly excluded — Stripe's own ToS
  prohibits resale, FCRA use, government use, and persons under 16).
- Face matching against third-party databases is not performed.

Who performs the verification: Sumsub (primary KYC provider), Onfido (fallback).
The branded experience is always "Nomad ID" — the provider is infrastructure.

Once verified, the status travels with the person. Landlords, banks, employers,

demanding a stack of country-specific documents.

Verification levels:
- BASIC: passport verified, liveness confirmed.
- FULL: passport + address + financial signals + profession.
- VERIFIED NOMAD: full verification + Score above threshold + clean Tribunal history.

The badge shows:
- Verified name (from passport, Latin characters, exactly as consulates require).
- Verification level (basic / full / verified_nomad).
- Score level (public-facing level, not the raw number).

QR code: Each Verified Nomad has a QR code. Partners scan it. They see: name,
subscription tier, discount eligibility, Verified status. They do NOT see:
email, phone number, Score raw number, financial data. QR refreshes every
60 seconds to prevent copying and misuse.

Physical NFC card: The premium identity card. NTAG 424 DNA chip. Reads via
NFC on any modern smartphone. Being launched via Kickstarter.

Included in: Family subscription (Verified status). Pro subscription (Verified
Nomad full level). Enterprise: included in integration contracts.

themselves. Does NOT submit applications to consulates — that remains manual.

How it works:
1. User provides passport (via MRZ scan or NFC chip read on mobile).
2. AI Twin reads the passport fields in exact Latin transliteration.
3. System identifies which visa form is required (country × citizenship × purpose).
4. Fills the form automatically from the passport + profile data.
5. Asks only the fields that cannot be derived (hotel address, travel dates, etc.).
6. Validates: passport validity against destination requirements; Schengen 90/180
   day rule; insurance requirements; photo specifications.
7. Delivers a completed, print-ready PDF with a digital signature in history.

Key behaviors:
- The name used is always exactly from the passport MRZ — preventing the #1 cause

A reliability indicator on a 0.0–10.0 scale, reflecting verified trust across
six dimensions. Recalculated nightly at 03:00 UTC in 10 fixed sequential steps.

What users see: their Score level and progress bars (rounded to 5%). Raw numbers
and sub-component breakdowns are NOT shown to users.

What the six dimensions measure:
V — Verification: identity documents verified, KYC level achieved.
E — Experience: verified stays, cross-border history, bank account in multiple countries.
M — Mobility: active relocation history, entry/exit data, visa success rate.
R — Reputation: community behavior, Tribunal history, reviews from verified partners.
A — Assets: financial signals (income range, bank balance indicators, property).
T — Trust: length of membership, Constitution signing, community contributions.

The formula exists but is intentionally not disclosed to prevent gaming. The
formula is: rawScore = V×0.25 + E×0.20 + M×0.15 + R×0.20 + A×0.10 + T×0.10
× Risk_Multiplier ± noise ±0.05. This produces a 0.0–10.0 output.

Risk_Multiplier: An internal hidden layer (never shown to users or partners)
that adjusts the score based on fraud signals, Tribunal history, and behavioral
anomalies. Partners receive only "low / medium / high" risk_level — never the
multiplier value.

What partners see via Protocol API:
- score (0.0–10.0)
- level (the name: Stranger/Wanderer to Legend)

Score recalculation: Nightly at 03:00 UTC. 10 steps in fixed order. Takes
approximately 3–5 minutes per user profile. Major events (Tribunal outcome,
KYC completion) trigger immediate partial recalculation.
